Parker Bestobell’s cryogenic thermal relief valve is designed to prevent damage to piping and equipment caused by the expansion of liquefied gases. It prevents liquefied gases being trapped between two closed valves.

Parker Bestobell's compact cryogenic thermal relief valve is designed to prevent damage to piping and equipment caused by the expansion of liquefied gases. This thermal relief valve will lift at =/- 3% of set pressure rating. When liquefied gases are trapped between two closed valves (known as liquid lock), reheating and boiling can lead to a dangerous rise in pressure. The Parker Bestobell's thermal relief valve has been designed to prevent pressure build up.  
Its tried and trusted design means that the valve will not stick in its seat, even when it has been left unused for long periods of time. The valve also reseats correctly after venting off the expanding fluid, thus preventing gas wastage. It is available with a variety of outlet connections to suit customer requirements.
