The Type BBI valve is a small capacity balanced port type valve designed primarily for use on residential and small commercial air conditioning systems. The BBI can also be used in packaged heat pump units where one bi-flow metering device is used to expand refrigerant to either indoor or outdoor coil. This valve is particularly well suited for systems which operate over widely varying conditions, or employ some means of capacity reduction such as a two-speed compressor. The Type BBI valve is available in many variations and is sold to OEMs who order in large quantities. Although the thermostatic element is replaceable, it is not recommended to replace internal parts. The R/ER Series valves are functional replacements.
