Parker Chomerics PORCUPINE METALASTIC expanded Monel® or aluminum foil are metal-based EMI shielding gaskets produced in thin sheets that can be cut into custom geometries to meet application specific needs. PORCUPINE METALASTIC can be “filled” for a pressure seal, or “unfilled” for no pressure seal.

Because of the high metal content of PORCUPINE METALASTIC, it is an extremely durable and economical solution for applications requiring high pressure sealing and/or high levels of EMI shielding (waveguides, connectors, etc.).

PORCUPINE METALASTIC gains its excellent compressibility from being very uniform in thickness. The expanded foil provides dozens of contact points per square inch of surface area, assuring moderate shielding effectiveness.

Features and Benefits:

•Intended for applications where joint thickness is less than 0.003 in (0.08 mm)

•Ideal gasket size less than 4 in. x 6 in. (102 mm x 152 mm)

•Not intended to be used after joints are opened

•“Filled” for a pressure seal with either silicone or fluorosilicone elastomer

•“Unfilled” for no pressure seal, only pure expanded metal foil

•Bulk roll 12 in. (305 mm) wide x 25 ft (7.62m)
