General purpose springless single lip rotary shaft seals are available from Parker in materials of construction which include varying metal case OD configurations to suit the application.

Standard Designs:

VB Profile: Springless single elastomer lip. Metal case with ParKote™ bore sealant or ground OD. Most common and economical

VC Profile: Springless single elastomer lip. Rubber covered metal case OD for improved OD sealing in bores with minor imperfections and in soft alloy housings.

VA Profile: Springless single elastomer lip. Double metal case where inner case provides structural rigidity for large cross-sections. ParKote™ coating is standard.

NBR: Temp -20F / +250F
FKM: Temp -40F / +400F

Shaft Surface Speed: Up to 2000 fpm (10.2 m/s) depending upon pressure

Maximum Pressure: 0 to 7 psi (0 to 0.48 bar) depending on shaft speed

Size Range: 1/4 to 6 inches (6.4 to 152mm)

Maximum Shaft Dynamic Runout (TIR): 0.010” (0.254 mm)

Maximum (STBM) Misalignment: 0.010” (0.254 mm)

Typical Applications:
For general purpose grease retention in applications such as electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, and fans.
