Please Note: No longer available - Parker does not recommend the use of P1D-H pneumatic cylinders in any new applications and the information provided on this page is for legacy support purposes. For new applications, plus those previously fulfilled by P1D-H series products, users can now benefit by utilising the new 'P1F-H Series ISO 15552 Smooth Profile Static Rod Locking Pneumatic Cylinders'. Please contact our applications team for assistance in migrating your application over to the new P1F-series. For further details please see our webpage: http://www.parker.com/pde/p1f-h
The P1D-H in bore sizes Ć32 to Ć125mm is an ISO 15552 / VDMA P1D-S magnetic profile linear cylinder for standard temperature -20°C to +80°C with an integrated air/spring static rod lock allowing the piston rod to be locked in any position. Incorporating a powerful piston rod locking device, which clamps the piston rod and locks it in position. The locking device is a spring lock with an air pressure release and is integrated into the front plate of the cylinder. In the absence of an air signal pressure, full holding force is applied to the piston rod. When air is present at 3 Bar the locking device is released.
The P1D-H rod lock cylinder is available for cylinder bores Ć32 to Ć125mm. The design provides several valuable characteristics, such as:
⢠A holding force corresponding to a pressure of 7 Bar.
⢠The front plate and locking device are built into a common block for compact installation.
⢠Exhaust air from the locking device can be piped away from when there are demands for a contamination free environment.
Like all P1D cylinders this series is supported by a full range of ISO mountings and is suitable for wide range of general industrial applications.
Note that these units are not certifed for use in safety systems.
ā FPM scraper for high chemical resistance
For use in applications where chemicals may affect the scraper in the front end cover, an option with a scraper in FPM rubber for better chemical resistance must be used.
ā Dry piston rod, HDPE
In many applications, but primarily in the food industry, equipment has to be frequently cleaned. This can result in the film of grease on the cylinder piston rod being washed away, which puts special demands on the materials and the design of the piston rod seal system. For these type of "dry rod" operations a specifically designed L-shaped HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) seal system can be used. This self lubricating plastic material together with the design of the scraper ring and piston seal ensures a smooth trouble free movement.
General Technical Data
⢠International standards : complies with ISO 15552, ISO 6431, VDMA 24562 and AFNOR installation dimension standards.
⢠Bore Sizes : Ć32, Ć40, Ć50, Ć63, Ć80, Ć100 and Ć125 mm
⢠Stroke Length : 5 to 2800mm
⢠Versions : double acting / double acting with through rod
⢠Cushioning : adjustable pneumatic
⢠Position Sensing : "Drop in" sensors can easily be installed in the recessed grooves located on three faces mechanically protecting the sensor that can be located at any position along the piston stroke. Choose between electronic or reed sensors with various cable lengths and 8 mm snap on, M12 threaded or flying lead connection.
⢠Installation : a wide range of cylinder mountings in anodised aluminium providing the same overall corrosion resistance.
⢠Mounting position : any
Operating and Environmental Data:
⢠Operating Medium : for best possible service life and trouble-free operation dry, filtered compressed air to ISO 8573-1:2010 quality class 3.4.3 should be used. This specifies a dew point of +3°C for indoor operation (a lower dew point should be selected for minus temperature operation and we recommend the use of an inline dryer) and is in line with the air quality from most standard compressors with a standard filter.
⢠Operating Pressure : 0.5 to 10 Bar
⢠Operating Temperature : standard temperature -20°C to +80°C
⢠Release Pressure : > 4 Bar (Signal pressure to inlet port of lock unit)
⢠Pre-lubricated : further lubrication is normally not necessary. If additional lubrication is introduced it must be continued.
⢠Corrosion Resistance : high resistance to corrosion and chemicals. Materials and surface treatment have been selected for industrial applications where solvents and detergents are frequently used.
