Product Overview
Description
Omega profile hollow extrusions offer low closure force sealing and are available in two options: with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing for easy attachment, or mechanical fastening for more robust retention. Both options have the flexibility to fill large clearance gaps often associated with thin metal or plastic enclosures.

Omega profile seals are an economical alternative to molded products and can be extruded and made into extremely large O-rings that are ordinarily too expensive when molded. Dimensions can also be easily customized at no tooling cost, giving engineers more design flexibility.

Hollow seal profiles are typically used when sealing in applications that have one or more of the following characteristics:

    • Clearance gaps are present after assembly
    • The gland cross section is more deep than narrow
    • Radial interference (squeeze) is needed to assist the end product assembly process
    • Low closure force is needed
    • Seal cross section surface contact area maximization without overfill
