Medium pressure capable rotary shaft seals from Parker are designed to seal pressurized media in applications up to 200 psi running at shaft surface speeds to 4000 fpm (20.3 m/s). Materials of construction include a rubber-covered OD metal case which provides improved OD sealing on bores with minor imperfections, and in soft alloy housings. The garter spring keeps the elastomer lip in contact with the shaft during higher shaft speeds and also helps offset normally occurring compression set and wear of the lip material. Double lip designs (TDN3, NTC4) feature a secondary dust lip for contaminant exclusion.

Standard Designs:

TDN3 Profile: Double lip; spring-loaded primary sealing lip and secondary dust lip. Reduced springback heel case combines sealability of rubber OD and metal retention of metal od and adds strructural rigidity extends pressure capability to 200 psi (13.7 bar).

NSC4 Profile: Single spring-loaded lip. Rubber covered OD for improved OD sealing in bores with minor imperfections and soft alloy housing.

NTC4 Profile: Double lip; spring-loaded primary sealing lip and secondary dust lip. Rubber covered OD for improved OD sealing in bores with minor imperfections and soft alloy housing.
