The RS-series Right-Angled Helical Planetary Gearboxes incorporate design enhancements to provide superior performance for the most demanding high performance applications. The RS gearheads incorporate spiral bevel gears, permitting high efficiency and high torque in a compact, right-angle package, while helical planetary gears provide greater tooth contact and face width than spur gears - resulting in higher loads, smoother tooth engagement, quieter operation and very low backlash. The use of an integral ring gear, cut directly into the gearhead housing, further increases torsional stiffness and allows RS-series gearheads to use larger gears and bearings, leading to a greater torque output from a minimum package size. Dual angular contact bearings provides higher radial and axial load capacities, while maintaining high input speeds, while a full complement of needled bearings are used to support the planet gears, allowing for increased life. Internal design changes and optimized gearing geometries provide the basis for the universal mounting position. Common mounting kits across multiple gear head lines promote quicker deliveries and ease of mounting to any servo motor. Mounting to any servo motor is as easy as A-B-C (adapter, bushing, collet).
