RV Series Fuel Filter Vessels are high-flow filtration solutions designed for use in bulk fuel storage, fuel dispensing, fuel transfer, and large engine applications. They can be used as fuel filter / water separators or particulate filters.
No matter how carefully gasoline or diesel is handled, contaminants find their way into fuel during transfer and storage. Water is an engine's primary enemy and can condense directly from air during normal day/night heating and cooling cycles. The presence of water facilitates microbial growth, which leads to fouling, increased corrosion, and damage to fuel system components. Additionally, rust particles and chips from corroding tanks and piping, as well as air-blown silica and dirt, can lead to clogged filters, reduced combustion efficiency, and even engine failure.
RV Series Filter Vessels ensure the performance and reliability of modern diesel and combustion engines by removing water and contaminants that often make their way into fuel during handling, transfer, and storage. The RV Series can be installed as a fuel filter / water separator (RVFS) or as a particulate filter (RVMF). The RVFS removes emulsified free water and solids from diesel fuel, biodiesel blends, and kerosene fuel streams. The RVMF ensures removal of contaminants such as dirt, rust, scale, and other solid materials down to 2 microns.
All RV Series units are constructed from carbon steel with a zinc-plated swing bolt closure, and are certified to ASME code Section VIII construction. A wide range of optional customizations, including support stands and a wall mount bracket, are also available to meet the unique requirements of customers’ operations.

How they work:
RVFS units – When installed as a FF / WS, the RV Series removes emulsified free water from hydrocarbon fuel streams. It utilizes a two-stage system consisting of a primary water coalescing filter element (HOCP) and a secondary pleated paper water separating element (HSP), which blocks water coalesced in the first stage. Collected water is held in the vessel sump until drained. Depending on element sets selected, RVFS units remove particulates down to 5 microns. Optional secondary water separator elements are available in synthetic (HSS) and Teflon-treated (HST) versions for special applications.
RVMS units – RVMS units are designed to remove particulates from fuel streams down to 2 microns (depending on elements selected). Elements are constructed using silicone-treated cellulose media (HFP) or synthetic fiber media (HFS). RVMF units can also be equipped with water absorbing elements (HFW) for fuel dispensing applications.
Markets:
• Agriculture
• Construction
• Power Generation
• Oil and Gas
• Transportation
Applications:
• Diesel and Biodiesel Engines
• Gasoline
• Kerosene
Benefits:
• Removes water that enters the system through condensation in the fuel tank. Any water present in the fuel stream will support bacterial growth, which can cause clogged filters and result in the formation of corrosive acids. Susceptible components then rust and corrode, leading to erosion and wear of critical fuel system components.
• Prevents costly injector damage and increases operational life of downstream filters.
• Saves time and money by eliminating unplanned maintenance and unscheduled downtime from system component failure.
• Removes free water that often collects in fuel tanks and drums. Free water formation occurs when humid air inside a container or tank cools to the point that water condenses out of the air.
• Removes hard particles (e.g., sand and silica) present in air that are introduced during transfer and distribution.
