General purpose oil seal. SCF Profile: Single spring-loaded elastomer lip bonded with PTFE for reduced friction. Rubber covered OD for improved OD sealing in bores with minor imperfections and soft alloy housing.
Reduced friction single and double-lip Parker oil seals are general purpose, rotary shaft seals which have a layer of PTFE bonded to the elastomer sealing lip. The bonded PTFE layer reduces the frictional heat from lip contact force, thereby reducing excessive wear on the shaft and seal. As a result, seal profiles may be used in dry running applications and at higher speeds. In addition, PTFE enhances fluid compatibility with its broader range of chemical acceptance. The garter spring keeps the elastomer lip in contact with the shaft during higher shaft speeds and also helps offset normally occurring compression set and wear of the lip material. TN Profile is springless. Double-lip designs (TBF, TCF) feature a secondary dust lip for contaminant exclusion.
Standard Designs:
SBF Profile: Single spring-loaded lip. Metal case with ParKote™ bore sealant standard. Most common and economical.
SCF Profile: Single spring-loaded lip. Rubber covered OD for improved OD sealing in bores with minor imperfections and soft alloy housing.
TBF Profile: Double-lip; spring-loaded primary sealing lip and secondary dust lip. Metal case with ParKote™ bore sealant standard.
TCF Profile: Double-lip; spring-loaded primary sealing lip and secondary dust lip. Rubber covered OD for improved OD sealing in bores with minor imperfections and soft alloy housing.
TN Profile: Single, springless elastomer lip bonded with PTFE to combine the low friction properties of PTFE with the flexibility of rubber. Metal case.
