Parker DS Profile rotary shaft seal is used as an internal deflector to protect the primary seal from lubricant surge or as an external excluder for dust and contamination.
Parker's DS Profile rotary shaft excluder seal, also known as a deflector seal, is designed to protect the primary lip seal by internally deflecting heavy oil surges or externally excluding dust, spray, and contamination.
Its materials of construction include the nonmetallic, Clipper® composite rubber/aramid fiber outer case, or “heel,” which forms a leak-free, press fit in the shaft, conforming to minor surface irregularities. It is also available in homogenous rubber material.
The DS profile features the traditional Clipper® nonmetallic composite construction which is press-fit onto the shaft, for enhanced stability and optimal performance.
Standard Materials:
• Composite Neoprene/NBR/aramid fiber / NBR (Nitrile Butadiene); Temp -20F / +250F
• Composite Neoprene/aramid fiber; Temp -45F / +250F
• Composite FKM/aramid fiber; Temp -40F / +400F
Shaft Surface Speed: Up to 2500 fpm (12.7 m/s)
Maximum Shaft Dynamic Runout (TIR): 0
Maximum (STBM) Misalignment: 0
Maximum Pressure: 0
Typical Applications:
The DS profile is used as an internal deflector on gearboxes or other industrial equipment with internal splash and as an excluder for applications with external contamination.
